About

Amgueddfa Genedlaethol Caerdydd - National Museum Cardiff

Cynhadledd Gwirfoddolwyr Treftadaeth 2017:
Creu amgylchedd cefnogol lle gall gwirfoddolwyr ffynnu.

Heritage Volunteer Conference 2017:
Creating a supportive environment for volunteers to flourish.

Briff y Gynhadledd:

Mae creu amgylchedd positif a chefnogol ar gyfer staff a gwirfoddolwyr yn allweddol er mwyn creu diwylliant gwirfoddoli sy’n grymuso, ac yn bartneriaeth go iawn. I gynnal y math hwn o ddiwylliant, mae’n allweddol cael cymuned amrywiol o wirfoddolwyr, a’u gwaith yn helpu eu hiechyd a’u lles. Rhaid ymdrin â materion anodd mewn da bryd, a dylai cynwysoldeb fod yn greiddiol.

Mae gweithio gyda gwirfoddolwyr o gefndiroedd amrywiol yn helpu cyrff treftadaeth i adlewyrchu cymunedau yn ehangach, ond gall datblygu a chynnal cymuned wirfoddoli amrywiol fod yn her.

A yw ein drysau ar agor i bawb mewn gwirionedd? A ydym ni’n mynd ati i gael gwared â rhwystrau i wirfoddolwyr? Sut mae cydbwyso anghenion gwahanol gyfranogwyr, delio â sefyllfaoedd cymhleth, a chefnogi llesiant?

Bydd y cynhadledd yn edrych ar y themau yma ac yn cysylltu gyda rhaglen Llywodraeth Cymru, Cyfuno: Creu cyfleoedd drwy ddiwylliant, sy’n gweithio i chwalu’r rhwystrau sy’n atal pobl rhag cymryd rhan mewn gweithgareddau diwylliannol, yn enwedig unigolion a chymunedau difreintiedig. Gwirfoddoli yw un o’r ffyrdd allweddol o gefnogi pobl – gan gynyddu eu hyder, a helpu cynyddu sgiliau a phrofiad sydd yn gallu trawsnewid eu bywydau.

Mae rhaglen ein cynhadledd wedi’i chynllunio i roi ysbrydoliaeth a gwybodaeth i chi ynghylch pob un o’r pynciau hyn gyda siaradwyr, cyflwyniadau astudiaeth achos a gweithdai gan sefydliadau o bob cwr o’r DU. Byddant yn rhannu arferion gorau, gwersi a ddysgwyd a gwybodaeth ynghylch cefnogi gwirfoddolwyr a’r staff sy’n eu rheoli.

Conference Brief:

Creating a positive and supporting environment for both staff and volunteers is key to enabling a volunteering culture that is empowering and a true partnership. The foundation for delivering this kind of culture is having a diverse volunteer community whose well-being and health is supported by their participation, where difficult issues are tackled in a timely fashion, and inclusivity is at the heart of our work.

Working with volunteers from diverse backgrounds helps heritage organisations reflect their wider communities; but in practice, developing and sustaining a diverse volunteer community can be challenging.

Are our doors really open to everyone? Are we actively breaking down barriers to volunteering? How do we balance the needs of different participants, deal with complex situations and support wellbeing?

The conference will explore these themes and link with the Welsh Government’s Fusion: Creating Opportunities through Culture programme which is working to break down barriers to cultural participation, particularly for individuals and communities experiencing economic disadvantage. Volunteering is one of the key ways we can support people – improving their confidence, and helping them to gain skills and experience that can transform their lives.

Our conference programme is designed to inspire with key note speakers, practical case studies and participatory workshops from organisations from across the UK; sharing best practice, lessons learnt and their knowledge in supporting volunteers and staff managing them.
