Porthcawl Jazz & Blues Festival 2017

The lineup is the culmination of the Festival’s commitment to bringing a diverse and unique group of jazz musicians to Porthcawl to deliver a collection of top class performances, Exciting new artists and student groups all connected around special custom made programming. This all creates a unique musical experiences and an atmosphere that cannot be beaten.

“Porthcawl is a place filled with music, culture and creativity, and we have a great legacy of jazz here. Our Festival – one of the longest running jazz festivals in Wales – truly showcases what makes our town special,” said Rob Clee, Mayor of Porthcawl. A stalwart from the beginning and musical Director Wayne Warlow said “Being part of the Festival since its inception, it has been rewarding to watch it grow and become an event that is woven into the fabric of the town and Jazz communities. We’re looking to add to its legacy with another collection of unforgettable performances this year and the expansion of our workshops and events for children.”

Wayne has once again curated an excellent lineup that is truly representative of the genre in all its facets. This was also an occasion to view the Artist-in-Residence Lesley Dearns excellent images from the Festival in 2015/16. She will be gracing all venues throughout the weekend capturing this unique event.
