JOHN OWEN JONES
With special guest Beau Dermott from BGT “the girl with the million pound voice”
Following a sold-out solo tour, West End and Broadway sensation John Owen-Jones returns to Wales for this special show at St David’s Hall.
John deservedly received standing ovations each night, and this concert promises to be the perfect early Christmas present for all musical theatre fans.
Since appearing alongside Judi Dench in Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music at the National Theatre in 1995, John has been a leading light in musical theatre with leading roles in Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera. At the age of just 26, John became the youngest actor ever in the West End to play Jean Valjean in Les Mis, and he performed as the Phantom nearly 2,000 times!
He also appeared in the World Premiere of the brilliant Welsh musical Tiger Bay, and performed as the leading role of John Crichton-Stuart, which was written especially for him.
In June 2017, John released the breathtaking album, Bring Him Home: A Collection of Musical Favourites featuring old favourites and new tracks from Les Misérables, Miss Saigon and West Side Story.
Joining John as special guest is Beau Dermott – the 13-year-old singer who captured the nation’s hearts on Britain’s Got Talent and is described as “the girl with the million pound voice.” Beau is now mentored by Amanda Holden and signed to Decca Records, who will release her debut album Brave in August 2017. Her voice is now insured by Lloyd’s of London for £1million!
John said: “I had an absolute blast performing in Wales again. The audience response was amazing, and I enjoyed it so much that I'm coming back for more!”
